Stan Brakhage (1933-2003) is regarded as one of the most significant figures in the post-war history of experimental filmmaking in the United States. A special one night only triple-play viewing was held last week to celebrate Stan Brakhage, these new acquistions, and the donor, Prof. Margaret Cohen. These silent films are from the Songs cyle (1964-1969) including 23rd Psalm Branch (1966-1967), which is anomalous in its length and content.

This month Collection Care welcomes a new team member, Annemaree Rea, to the position of Collection Care Specialist.
It is my delight to share the news that Kabir Hermon is joining the staff of Digital Library Systems and Services as our new Audio Digitization Specialist. Kabir’s first day will be Monday, September 20, and he will be working alongside Geoff Willard and Michael Angeletti at our media preservation facilities on the Stanford Redwood City campus.
Beginning September 1st, all book repair for circulating materials will take place in Collection Care at Lathrop.
