DocuNight streaming service
DocuNight is now accessible for use by Stanford students, faculty, and staff. This is the first streaming service we have added to Stanford Libraries’ Middle East collections. To access the service, you just need to click on the “Sign In” link in the top right corner and choose “Stanford University” from the “Select Your Institute” dropdown.
Founded and curated by Ahmad Kiarostami, DocuNight is an on-demand platform for the distribution of works of emerging and established documentary filmmakers in Iran and abroad. The collection is updated regularly and includes over 200 feature films and documentaries from and about Iran (and Afghanistan) spanning the period between the mid-1960s and early 2020s. Stanford is one of the first institutions of higher education in the world to provide access to the DocuNight streaming service. The collection is fully searchable, and all documentaries have been grouped thematically all with subtitles in English and Persian.
The purchase of the one-year subscription to DocuNight for 2022-23 was made possible through the support and close collaboration of the Hamid and Christina Moghadam Program for Iranian Studies at Stanford.
